Miss Ruth Bishop and Barney W. Hiers were married last Wednesday afternoon at the home of the bride, H. C. Bishop. The bride is one of the talented young women of this community who has made a success as a teacher. She is teaching this session in the Ehrhardt school. The bridegroom is a prominent young farmer of this section.

Mrs. Hiers, Retired Teacher
Ehrhardt
Mrs. Martha Ruth Hiers, 91. widow of Barney W. Hiers, died Sunday.
Born in Bamberg County, she was a daughter of the late Henry C. And Hattie Copeland Bishop. She was a former teacher in North Carolina and a member of Mount Pleasant Lutheran Church, Ehrhardt.
Mrs. Hiers was a graduate of Mont Amoena Seminary of North Carolina.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Rae Abernethy of Hickory, N. C.; a son, B. Monroe Hiers of Bamberg; a sister, Mrs. Minnie B. Clayton of Ehrhardt; grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. today at Mount Pleasant Lutheran Church, with burial in Ehrhardt Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Mount Pleasant Lutheran Church.
