Adella Cauble Houck
Adella Cauble Houck, 93, formerly of 306 Maupin Ave., died Sunday (Dec. 17, 1995) at the Salisbury Lutheran Nursing Home after 18 months of declining health.
Born Oct. 28, 1902, in Rowan County, Mrs. Houck, a daughter of the late Burgess M. and Ella Cress Cauble, was educated in the Rowan County schools, Mont Amoena Seminary, Mount Pleasant, and Teacher’s Training College, Greenville. A teacher in the Rowan County schools for 20 years, she later retired from Stanback Co. after 30 years. She was a member of Haven Lutheran Church, Willing Workers and taught Sunday school.
Survivors include husband E. Carl Houck, whom she married Sept. 25, 1926; and sisters Mary Cauble Seaford, McCane, and Rachel Cauble Bostian, Salisbury.
Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday, Haven Lutheran Church, conducted by the Rev. Ronald W. Fink. Burial at Rowan Memorial Park.
Visitation: 9:45-10:45 a.m. Tuesday in the church’s parlor. At other times the family will be at the home, 306 Maupin Ave.
