The home of Mr. and Mrs. Cloaninger on North Main street was the scene of a very pretty home wedding on last Tuesday evening at 7 o’clock when Miss Alice Belle Cloaninger became the bride of Mr. Cyrus McNeely.
The home was beautifully decorated for the occasion, potted plants, trailing ivy and cut flowers having been used in profusion.
Before the ceremony, Mr. Hugh Sloop, accompanied by Miss Vennie [Vernie] Goodman, sang “I Love You Truly.”
As the bridal chorus from Lhengrin sounded, the bride’s pastor, Rev. L. A. Thomas entered from the hall, followed by the bride and groom, who were unattended. The ring service of the Lutheran church was used.
During the ceremony, Miss Goodman played “Canzone Amorosa,” from Nevin, using as a recessional, Mendelssohn’s wedding march.
The bride wore a handsome suit of mid-night blue cloth and an attractive spring hat of corresponding shade and carried pink roses.
The bride and groom left immediately for an extended trip south.
Mr. and Mrs. McNeely on their return will reside in Mooresville.
