CORRELL – DAVIS WEDDING

Of interest to their many friends, was the marriage at 7 o’clock Friday evening, May 6th, of Miss Lola Onetia [sic] Correll and Robert Earl Davis which was solemnized at Lutheran Chapel, in China Grove, N. C.

The ceremony was performed by the Rev. C. E. Ridenhour in the presence of a large assemblage of friends and relatives.

The bride was escorted to the altar by her father who gave her in marriage. Mr. Davis was attended by his brother, W. A. Davis of Charlotte, Miss Pearl Bernardt, of Salisbury was the maid of honor.

Following the marriage the young couple left by train for a northern wedding trip after which they will live at 1908 Main street, Winston-Salem.

Mrs. Davis is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Correll. She graduated at Catawba College and for the past year has been a teacher in the county schools. She has many friends in Salisbury.

Mr. Davis is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Davis of Huntersville, Alabama. He is connected wit the Pennsylvania Railroad at Winston-Salem.

NORFOLK – Lala C. Davis, 90, passed away in a local hospital.

Born in Salisbury, N.C., she was a school teacher before marrying Robert E. Davis Sr., who predeceased her in 1994. She was a real estate salesperson for 30 years with Suburban Realty Co., a member of First Lutheran Church for 54 years as well as a Sunday School teacher for many years.

She is survived by two sons, Robert E. Davis Jr. and William C. Davis; and three granddaughters.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. in First Lutheran Church, 1301 Colley Ave., Norfolk, by the Rev. Terry D. Clark and the Rev. Dr. Marshall Mauney. Burial will follow in Rosewood Memorial Park, Virginia Beach.

Friends may join the family at Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, Monday from 7 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to the church.
