11-8 MARY VIRGINIA FISHER, b. Aug. 5, 1903.
Life began at Mt. Amoena Seminary, Mt. Pleasant, N. C. for Mary Virginia Fisher, the third daughter of the Rev. and Mrs. J. H C. Fisher. She also graduated from Marion Junior College, Marion, Virginia and received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Lenoir Rhyne College, Hickory, N. C. before taking her Master of Science Degree in Library Science at George Peabody College, Nashville, Tennessee. Her first library experience was at the P. K. Younge School of Education of the University of Florida, Gainesville, where she relieved the regular librarian who was on educational leave. She served as librarian at Martha Berry College, Rome, Georgia, before accepting her present position as Reference Librarian at Catawba College, Salisbury, N. C.
