Paramus Houses Looted of $2,206
Armed with detailed descriptions of their prey, Paramus police today were searching for a pair of thieves who methodically ransacked two Paramus homes in broad daylight yesterday, making off with $2,206 in clothing, jewelry, and cash…
While investigating this case, Sergeant Van Binsberger was called to Highland Avenue, where Mr. and Mrs. Ira Bohrers reported that $488 in clothing and jewelry had been stolen. Both the Bohrers and the Kerbys were away from home at the time.

LYNDHURST – The retirements of Mrs. Katherine Rosenfelder, high school history teacher and Mrs. Ruby Bohrer, high school librarian, approved by the Board of Education at Monday’s meeting, will go into effect on June 30, 1963 and not June 30 of this year as stated in a news story Wednesday.

Catawba given $336,000
Catawba College has receibed a gift of over $336,000 from the estate of alumna Ruby Lentz Bohrer of Paramus, N. J.
Mrs. Bohrer, a 1927 graduate, was a high school librarian in Lyndhurst, N. J., for 33 years. She had done graduate work at George Washington an New York universities and the University of North Carolina.
She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Paramus.
A native of Gold Hill, she served as secretary of her senior class at Catawba, chapel proctor and a Pioneer reporter. She was also a member of the Athenean Literary Society and the Rembrandt Club.
Her husband, Ira Bohrer, died in 1982.
“We greatly appreciate Mrs. Bohrer’s foresight and generosity,” Catawba President Stephen Wurster said. “She demonstrated a deep affection for her alma mater by including Catawba in her estate plan, and we are most grateful to her.”
