Misses Maggie and Myrtle Matthews, who have been attending Mont Amoena Seminary, Mount Pleasant, N. C., have returned to their home in the county for the summer vacation.

Matthews-McCrackin.
On Wednesday at high noon at the country home of Captain and Mrs. E. P. Matthews, above Jalapa, their daughter, Miss Margaret, was given in marriage to Mr. Thad. McCrackin, one of the leading merchants of the city of Newberry, and a member of the firm of Johnson-McCrackin Company. A number of relatives and friends were present to wish the young couple bon voyage. The ceremony was performed by Rev. A. J. Bowers, D. D.
The popular young people have gone on a bridal tour to Washington and other points north, and will be at home to their friends in Newberry after November 16.

MRS. MARGARET M. BRYSON
NEWBERRY – Mrs. Margaret Matthews McCrackin Bryson, 93, widow of H. Milam Bryson, died Wednesday in the Loman Home in White Rock.
Born in Newberry County, she was a daughter of the late Ezekill and Edith Langford Matthews. She was a graduate of Mont Amoena College in Mt. Pleasant, N.C., a charter member of the Calvin Crozier Chapter of the UDC and a member of the Garden Study Club.
Surviving are three sons, J. Thad McCrackin Jr., of Newberry, Thomas McCrackin of Fayette, Ala., and Edward D. McCrackin of St. Petersburg Beach, Fla.; three daughters, Mrs. Phil Brooks and Mrs. W. W. Parr of Newberry and Mrs. Jack Workman of St. Petersburg Beach; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Dorothy B. Clary of Greenville; 16 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be 3:30 p.m. today at Rosemont Cemetery.
The family suggests that those who wish may make memorials to the Loman Home in White Rock.
