VICTOR A. JOHNSTON WEDS MISS MABEL MCKNIGHT

Mooresville Enterprise.

Miss Mabel McKnight, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Franklin McKnight, was married Thursday evening to Victor A. Johnston in a ceremony characterized by exceptional beauty and simplicity at St. Paul’s Reformed church, Enochville.

The church pastor, the Rev. L. A. Peeler, assisted by Rev. John Johnston, cousin of the groom, read the ceremony, using the impressive ring service.

The vows were spoken before an altar which was effectively decorated with evergreens, madonna lilies and plans. An artistic arrangement of cathedral candles in the background gave a soft glow to the scene.

Prior to the ceremony, Mrs. Alton Finger, sister of the bride, sang “I Love You Truly: and “O Perfect Love.” She wore white organdie with a green velvet sash. Her flowers were a corsage of sweet peas.

Instrumental music was played by Mrs. Nellie White, who rendered “Love’s Greeting” by Elgar, Lohengrin’s “Bridal Chorus” by Wagner, and Mendelssohn’s “Wedding March.”

The bride entered with her father, who gave her in marriage, was strikingly beautiful in her wedding gown of white chiffon organdie. The veil, which was worn cap fashion, was held on either side by a cluster of orange blossoms. She carried an arm bouquet of bride’s roses, showered with valley lilies.

The matron of honor, Mrs. Seth Bostic, sister of the bride, wore blue organdie and carried an arm bouquet of larkspur. Little Mary Rose Bostic, flower girl, wore a pretty frock of pink organdie.

The ring bearer who bore the ring to the altar on a large role was Seth Bostic, Jr.

Sam Edminston, of Mooresville, attended the groom as best man. Ray Goodman, Victor Goodman of Concord; John Edmiston, Mason Boyd, of Mt. Ella were ushers.

Mrs. Johston is a graduate of Mount Amoena Seminary and Catawba College. She has taught in Rowan county and for the past two years in Ellenboro, N. C.

Mr. Johnston is the son of Mrs. Tina Johnston and the late Mr. V. A. Johnston. He is a graduate of State College with A. B. S. and M. S. degrees. He is now connected with the Mooresville Creamery.

Following the wedding the bride and groom left for an extended bridal trip in the north. They will attend the World’s Fair in Chicago before returning home. After June the fifteenth they will be at home in Mooresville.
