Mittie S. Peeler, Forestdale Drive
Mrs. Mittie Shoe Peeler, 90, of 1227 Forestdale Drive, died early today at her home after being in declining health for several months.
The body will remain at Summersett Funeral Home pending completion of funeral arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church or the Salisbury Unit of the N. C. Lutheran Home.
Born Dec. 18, 1890, in Rowan County, Mrs. Peeler was a daughter of the late Jefferson Davis and Elizabeth Page Shoe. She was educated in Mt. Amoena Academy at Mt. Pleasant and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She taught school at Mt. Amoena Academy and was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church where she was a member of the Lutheran Women and the Snider-Fink Sunday School Class. Her husband, Paul A. Peeler, died June 25 1975.
Survivors include four sons, Robert L. and Herman R. Peeler, both of Salisbury, George H. Peeler of Dania, Fla. and James E. Peeler of Eustis, Fla.; two daughters, Mrs. Marianna Winecoff of Concord and Mrs. Margaret Miller of Salisbury; two sisters, Mrs. Duke Hoffman of Salisbury and Mrs. Hollis Hall [Wall] of Dunedin, Fla.; 17 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
