ALMA LUCILE WHEELER, born October 2, 1890. Attended the common schools and Mount Amoena Seminary, Mt. Pleasant, N. C., united with St. Marks Evangelical Lutheran Church in girlhood. Married Philip G. Pou, December 26, 1917. Active member of Sardis Baptist Church Saluda County, with her husband. Husband farming and engaged in road construction work. There are five children as follows: Margaret Lucile, born October 24, 1918, James Wheeler, born August 1, 1920, Edwin Bee, born April 18, 1922, Joe Philip, born December 9, 1924, Mardie Aquilla, born April 30, 1927.

MRS. ALMA POU
SALUDA — Mrs. Alma Wheeler Pou, 83, widow of P. G. Pou Sr., died at the home of her daughter Wednesday, June 26.
She was born in Saluda County, a daughter of the late Herman and Aquilla B. Wheeler.
Surviving are two daughters, Margaret Pou of Columbia and Mrs. Hayward (Maidie) Trotter of Saluda; three sons, J. W. Pou of Saluda, J. C. Pou of Walterboro and P. G. Pou Jr. of Norfolk, Va.; two sisters, Mrs. Claude Hurlong of Greenwood and Mrs. L. D. Black of Miami, Fla.; two brothers, Hugh Wheeler of Saluda and S. J. Wheeler of Johnson City, Tenn.; and seven grandchildren.
Services were at 11 a.m. Friday in Sardis Baptist Church.
The family suggests that those who wish may make memorials to Sardis Baptist Church Building Fund or the charity of one’s choice.
