Whitley-Misenheimer

At the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. D. P. Whitley, of Millingport, Ernest L. Misenheimer and Miss Ora Whitley were united in marriage, Rev. H. M. Brown officiating. The following couples conducted the bride and groom into the parlor: Robert Agnes, of Rowan County, and Miss Susie Whitley; Whit Misenhemer an Miss Ida Whitley; Daniel Efird and Miss Vivian Misenheimer. It was a pretty home wedding.

Mr. Misenheimer is an intelligent and highly esteemed young man of Misenheimer Springs. Miss Ora is the beautiful and accomplished daughter of Dr. D. P. Whitley. The many friends of this popular young couple whish them success and happiness.

Misenheimer Funeral Held Thursday at 3

Funeral service for Mrs. Ora Aliss Misenheimer, 86, of 262 North Fourth Street, Albemarle, a retired school teacher, were conducted at 3 o’clock Thursday afternoon in First Lutheran Church, where she was a member.

Mrs. Misenheimer died Tuesday in Stanly County Hospital after a period of declining health. She was a native of Stanly County, daughter of the late Dr. Daniel P. and Liza Efird Whitley and was born August 24, 1889. She graduated from Mont Amoena Seminary in Mt. Pleasant. Her husband Ernest L. Misenheimer, preceded her in death.

She is survived by one son, Dr. Ernest L. Misenheimer Jr. of Salisbury; one daughter, Miss Lillian Misenheimer of Albemarle; three brothers, Daniel P. Whitley of High Point and J. Efird Whitley, both of Albemarle; two sisters, Mrs. Robert L. Agner of Alexandria, Virginia, and Mrs. J. Ernest Miller of Albemarle; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Officiating at the services were Rev. K. Y. Huddle, vice-pastor of First Lutheran Church, and Dr. George R. Whittecar, president of the North Carolina Synod, Lutheran Church in America.

Pallbearers were Bill Wilhelm, Dick Lefler, James Carpenter, Ray Kiser, Myron Dry and Lendell Morris.

Interment was in Fairview Cemetery.

The family requests that memorials be made to the North Carolina Lutheran Homes.
