Kluttz-Barringer

Mr. W. Dwight Kluttz and Miss Georgia E. Barringer were united in marriage at the Reformed parsonage yesterday afternoon at 4 o’clock. Rev. W. C. Lyerly performed the marriage ceremony, which was witnessed by two friends from Mt. Pleasant. The bride is a granddaughter of the late Cajah Barringer, of near Mt. Pleasant. Her parents died while she was very small. She has made her home with her near relatives, Mr. and Mrs. J. L. V. Miller, of Mt. Pleasant, who gave her the opportunity of an education. She is a graduate of the Mont Amoena Seminary and was a teacher in the Rowan public schools last year. The groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Kluttz, of Watts Cross Roads, and is a graduate of the Collegiate Institute of Mt. Pleasant. He is with the firm Cook & Foil of Mt. Pleasant. Mr. and Mrs. Kluttz will make their home in Mt. Pleasant. A real country supper was served at the groom’s home yesterday to the members of the immediate family and a few friends.

MT. PLEASANT – Services will be held today at 3 p.m. at St. James United Church of Christ for Mrs. Georgia Eldora Barringer Kluttz, 83, of 610 North Main Street.

Dr. Jack L. Carter will officiate with interment to follow in the church cemetery. The body will remain at Gordon-Penninger Funeral Home until the service hour.

Born December 31, 1901 in Cabarrus county, Mrs. Kluttz was the daughter of the late George and Martha Brown Fisher Barringer. She was an active member of St. James Untied Church of Christ. She was educated in the Cabarrus County Schools and Mont Amoena Seminary.

She was the president of Miller Lumber Company.

Her husband, M. Dwight Kluttz, preceded her in death in May 1968.

Survivors include two sons, Arthur Lee Kluttz and Carl D. Kluttz, both of Mt. Pleasant; one daughter Mrs. M. D. (Miriam) Swaringen of Mt. Pleasant; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
