Mt. Pleasant News.

Mt. Pleasant, Sept. 20 – Misses Mary and Laura Heilig were hostesses at a miscellaneous shower from 4 to 6 p.m. last Friday, complimentary to Miss Mary Beaver, whose marriage to Mr. Thomas B. Van Poole, of Salisbury, will take place at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church October 6. The parlors were beautifully decorated with cut flowers and potter plants. Progressive Hearts were played, the highest score being won by Mrs. George F. McAllister, who in turn presented the dainty prize to the honoree. At the conclusion of the games, the bride-to-be was given a large market basket, and, directed by witty rhymes, she went from place to place collecting the  dainty wrapped packages. The opening of the assembled packages revealed a shower of gifts of unusual beauty and value. A most delicious salad course was then served. Heart-shaped cards attached to the plate decorations bore the following: “M. M. H. to J. C. McD. Jr., Oct. 27,” thus happily announcing the approaching nuptials of Miss Mary Heilig and Mr. John C. McDow, Jr., of Greenville, S. C.

The delightful occasion ended with showers of felicitations for the brides-to-be.
