Cards have been received here announcing the coming marriage of Miss Mabel Bostian, daughter of Mr. J. L. Bostian, to Mr. Robert Wesley Gray, which will take place Wednesday evening the 28th, at 8 o’clock in St. Mark’s Lutheran Church at China Grove.

Mrs. Gray Is Taken By Death Here

Mrs. Mabel Bostian Gray, 79, of 46 Fairway Dr., died Monday night in an Asheville hospital following a brief illness.

She was a native of China Grove, a daughter of Jacob L. and Georgia Winecoff Bostian, and the widow of R. W. Gray, who died in 1928.

Mrs. Gray was a charter member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church and had resided in Asheville for 40 years.

Surviving are one daughter-in-law, Mrs. R. Fred Gray of Asheville, with whom she made her home; one son, J. W. Gray of Memphis, Tenn.; two sisters, Mrs. G. E. Gowdy of Miami, Fla., and Mrs. Elizabeth Moorefield of Asheville.

Also two brothers, Fred H. and Will H. Bostian of China Grove; and two grandchildren, Robert F. Gray and Richard R. Gray of Asheville.

Services will be held at 3 p. m. Wednesday in St. Mark’s Lutheran Church. The Rev. Jack Smith, pastor, will officiate, assisted by Dr. Lewis Thorneberg, director of the Lutheridge Assembly. Burial will be in Lewis Memorial Park.

Active pallbearers will be Victor Workman, Claude Jarrett, David K. Fort, J. Bruce Ridenhour, Dr. Henry Mahler and W. H. Noah.

Moris-Hendon-Black Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
