For sixteen years, the rev. Charles Elmore Ridenhour served as Pastor of Center Grove, beginning on July 9, 1928 until 195. Under his leadership the congregation experienced a steady growth and much improvement was made to the physical equipment of the Church building. Ninety-eight souls were added to the membership. He was born April 4, 1893, in Cabarrus Co., parent Luther Alexander and Alice Elizabeth (Barringer) Ridenhour. Married Addie Marguerite Cline of Cabarrus, Co., May 1919. Died April 4, 1971 – Buried St. John’s , Concord.
Children; Charles Edward, Alice victoria (married to the Rev. W. David Wise), Lillian Adelaide (married to Ray A. Cline (Rep. for Lutheran Brotherhood Ins.) These are twin daughters.
The Women’s Missionary society at this time was a strong asset to the congregation, helping in many ways.
