Dreher—Ackerly

Wilmington, Oct. 9.—One of the loveliest weddings of the fall season took place yesterday at 6 o’clock at St. Paul’s Lutheran church, when Miss Marie Catherine Dreher, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. J. H. Dreher, of this city, became the bride of the Rev. George Carter Ackerly, pastor of the English Lutheran church of the Holy Nativity, at Endicott, N. Y.

The bridal party entered the church in the following order: First came the two small ribbon boys, Charles Huffman, and Henry Tiencken, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. H. M. Tiencken, of this city. Both ribbon boys wore white suits. They were followed by the groomsmen, who were Carl Oldenbuttle, of Wilmington, and Edward J. Hanson, of Charlotte.

Next came the bride’s maids, Miss Johanna Rehder and Miss Katherine Rulfs. The bride’s maids were followed by the maid of honor, Miss Josephine Dreher, sister of the bride.

The bride entered the church on the arm of her father, by whom she was given in marriage. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Edwin F. Keever, pastor of the church, in the presence of an unusually large gathering of friends and relatives.

The bridegroom had for his best man, John D. Doscher, of this city.

The Rev. and Mrs. Ackerly left on the 7 o’clock train for the north. After a wedding trip of two weeks spent at points of interest in the north, they will be at home at 1205 Main street, Endicott, N. Y.
