Another wedding of interest to Newberrians will be one at Ehrhardt on next Tuesday, as both the bride-elect and the prospective groom are well known here, having attneded school in this city, the happy man, Mr. O. D. Ritchie, being a graduate of Newberry college, and the bride-to-be being a granddaughter of Mrs. H. F. Cline, namely, Miss Edrie Ehrhardt, of Ehrhardt.

Mr. O. D. Ritchie, of Ritchfield, N. C., and Miss Edrie L. Ehrhardt were happily married by rev. D. B. Groseclose at the home of the bride’s parents on the afternoon of Tuesday, the 24th of December. After the ceremony was over, at about four o’clock p.m., the groom and bride left for his home in Ritchfield, N. C., under a shower of rice. Congratulations for a long and happy life were wished them in their new undertaking.

O. D. Ritchie Dies at 70
Former Albemarle School Teacher, Lawyer Dies of Heart Attack
ALBEMARLE, Sept. 3 – Orion Delma Ritchie, 70, a former school teacher and lawyer of Albemarle and Stanly County, died Thursday evening at Richie Lakes near Richfield, owned an operated by him. Death was attributed to a heart attack.
Mr. Ritchie, born in Richfield, was sone of the late Mr. and Mrs. M. M. Ritchie of Richfield.
He held A. B. and A. M. degrees from Newberry College, Newberry, S. C. and studied law at Wake Forest College. He was well known throughout Stanly County as an educator and business man. He was superintendent of the Wiscassett Schools in Albemarle for about 30 years and formerly practiced law in Albemarle. For the past 12 years he has managed his farm and Ritchie Lakes. He was a member of Richfield Lutheran Church.
Mr. Ritchie was married to the former Miss Edrie Lenora Ehrhardt of Ehrhardt, S. C. in 1914 [sic. 1912] who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Mamie Catherine Hearne, and a grandson; a brother, Turedelle Ritchie of Richfield; and a sister, Mrs. Clancy Miller of Salisbury.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. at Richfield Lutheran Chruch. Burial will be in Fairview memorial Park in Albemarle.
