McCrary-English.

Asheboro, June 17.—A lovely marriage interesting to the people of Asheboro as well as throughout the State occurred at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Frank English at Mocksville when their daughter, Miss Julia deTolson, was married to Mr. Charles Walker McCrary, of Asheboro. The ceremony took place at 7:30 o’clock Tuesday evening at the home of the bride, being performed by Rev. B. C. Reavis, pastor of the First Methodist Church, Asheboro, uniting two prominent families of the State.

The bride who entered the room on the arm of her father, was dressed in a charming dress of white chiffon with lace veil. Her only ornament was a handsome pin, the gift of the groom, and she carried a real lace handkerchief which her mother carried on her wedding day 27 years ago. Her flowers were bride’s roses and lilies.

The only attendants preceding the bride were Miss Margaret Roberson, of Washington, D. C., as maid of honor, and little Peggy Dean, of Durham, was the flower girl.

The bride and her father were met at the altar by the groom and his best man who was his brother, Mr. Frank McCrary, of Asheboro.

Immediately following the ceremony a reception and wedding supper was given. A number of relatives from other states attended the wedding. The bride and groom will be at home in Asheboro after their return from the wedding trip.

The bride is well known in Asheboro, having taught in the Asheboro school.

Mr. McCrary is the son of Mr. and Mrs. D. B. McCrary and is manager of the McCrary Hosiery Mill, of this place.

ASHEBORO – Mrs. Julia English McCrary, 89, of 240 Worth St., died this morning in Asheboro.

She was a native of Chestertown, Md. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, the Sorosis Book Club and the Randolph Book Club. She was a former member of the Randolph Public Library Board. She married C.W. McCrary.

Surviving are one son, Charles W. McCrary Jr., of Asheboro; one daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth McCrary Simmons of High Point; one brother, Frank T. English of Morganton; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete. The family will receive friends at the home of her son, 543 Edgewood Rd.
