The School Closed with an Entertainment.

On Friday evening, the 27th, Miss Ivey Stricker’s school, near Blackwelder’s gin, in No. 9 township, closed. The exercises were witnessed by the patrons and many friends.

The exercises consisted of recitations, declamations and songs. The following young people had parts on the programme:

Luther Corzine, John Blackwelder, Egbert Hurlocker, Hawley McEachern, Fate Smith, Simpson Lefler, John Harris, Charley Barnhardt, John McEachern, Willie Smith, Edward Wise, Daisy and Dora Faggart, Ada Cozine, Esther Holshouser, Floyd McEachern, and Alice Lentz.

Miss Stricker’s services were so much appreciated that the patrons have concluded to continue the school by private subscriptions.

Funeral For Mrs. Cox

Funeral services for Mrs. C. N. Cox, who died at her home in this county at 8 o’clock Thursday morning, were held at 3 o’clock this afternoon from St. John’s Lutheran Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Cox was 50 years of age and is survived by her husband and several children.
