The Death of Mrs. Ella Glasgow

Mrs. Ella Hargrave Glasgow died this morning at 9:20 o’clock at her home on the Camden road, aged 60 years. It was not generally known that Mrs. Glasgow was sick, therefore the news of her death was a great shock to her fiends and acquaintances. She had been ill since Wednesday but her condition was not thought to be immediately serious until last night. Dr. C. M. Strong, of Charlotte, arrived her this morning to consult with Mrs. Glasgow’s physicians but nothing could be done to save her life.

Mrs. Glasgow was a daughter of the late Johnson Hargrave, who was one of Wadesboro’s most prominent citizens before and just after the war. She lived in Georgia many years after her marriage, returning to Wadesboro about two years ago, since which time she has lived with her brother, Mr. Fred Hargrave. Mrs. Glasgow was devoted member of the Episcopal church and was greatly beloved by her friends. Two children, Miss Bessie Glasgow, and Mr. Fred Glasgow, both of Atlanta, survive. Funeral services will be held in the Episcopal church tomorrow morning at 11, and burial will be in Eastview cemetery.
