Miss Laura E. Heilig

CONCORD, Oct. 1 – Funeral services for Miss Laura Ellen Heilig of Mt. Pleasant were conducted this morning at 11 0’clock at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. The Rev. E. R. Trexler, pastor, officiated. Interment was in the Lutheran cemetery. Miss Heilig, 57, died at her home her Wednesday morning after a six month’s illness. She was born Feb. 17, 1897, in Mt. Pleasant. She was the daughter of the late Clarence Gilbert Heilig and Emma Regina Barrier Heilig. She had been a teacher in Mt. Pleasant for many years and up until several months ago was principal of McAllister School. She was also active in church and community projects. Miss Heilig is survived by three sisters, including Mrs. Roy Petterson (sic) of Charlotte.
