MRS. ESTHER FRYE

Services were conducted Wednesday afternoon at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Wardensville, W. Va., for Mrs. Esther H. Grye, 94, Wardensville, who died last Sunday. The Rev. Elmer Ganskopp and Pastor Phillip C. Huber officiated, burial was in Wardensville Cemetery.

Born October 3, 1895, a daughter of the late James A. and Bernice McKeever Heishman, she was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church and taught Sunday School for 65 years. She served as president of the Virginia Synodical Church Women’s Organization, and held many officers during her 50-year membership in the West Virginia Farm Woman’s Club.

Her husband, Joseph T. Frye, died October 25, 1965.

Surviving are three daughters, Edith F. Bland, Shepherdstown; Jean F. Hilbrink, Los Gatos, Calif.; and Mary Martha Morgan, McLean, Va.; two sons, Joseph T. Frye, Jr., Athens, Tenn., and James E. Frye, Wardensville; 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
