Resolutions of Respect

Resolutions of respect tendered to Miss Nettie E. Hentz, of Walton, S.C., by the Dry Branch Sunday-school of Bells, S. C. Miss Nettie E. Hentz, who has been in our midst as a teacher for some time, and an efficient member of our Sunday-school, has been compelled to give up her work and rtire from our section on account of the recent death of her father and the responsibility of caring for her younger sisters and brother.

Miss Nettie E. Hantz is a woman of strong character, amiable in disposition and faithful in the discharge of duty. Our community will miss her. Her place in our Sunday-school will be vacant, therefore be it.

Resolved, 1. That we extend to Miss Nettie E. Hentz, our heartfelt sympathy in behalf o her great bereavement caused by the death of her father.

2. That we express our appreciation of the faithful service and influence for good shed abroad in our neighborhood.

3. That we, as a Sunday-school, recognize her removal from our midst to be a great loss to us, but we humbly submit to God’s will and pray divine guidance upon her.

4. That these resolutions be published in Press and Standard and Newberry Herald and News, and copies of same forwarded to Miss Nettie E. Hentz, Walton, S. C.

Rites for Mrs. Caldwell

Walterboro, Feb. 2- (Special) – Mrs. Jeanette Elizabeth Hentz Caldwell, 69-year-old widow of W. B. Caldwell, died at her home near Stevens Cross Roads Monday morning after an illness of four months.

Funeral services were held at noon Friday at the Carter’s Ford Baptist church, with interment in the church cemetery. The Rev. P. H. Hughes, assisted by the Rev. Paul McCullough, officiated.

Mrs. Caldwell is survived by a son, W. B. Caldwell, Jr., of Lodge; three sisters, Mrs. John T. Cromer and Mrs. B. H. McGraw, both of Newberry, and Mrs. T. H. Caldwell, Sr., of Ruffin.

She was a member of the St. Matthews Lutheran church of Newberry county.
