Sister of Columbian Dies in North Carolina

Hickory, N. C., Oct., Oct. 30. – Mrs. Jessie Layton Ridenhour, 59, wife of the Rev. V. C. Ridenhour, pastor of Holy Trinity Lutheran church here died at her home last night following a lengthy illness. Prior to her marriage to the Rev. Mr. Ridenhour October 14, 1903, she was Miss Jessie Layton of St. Matthews, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. R. D. Layton and attended Mount Amoena seminary.

Mrs. Ridenhour is survived by her husband, one son, William Ridenhour, Knoxville, Tenn., and three sisters, Mrs. J. B.Scorrie, Mrs. W. H. Riser and Mrs. A. W. Holman, all of Columbia. Mrs. Riser has been with the Ridenhours here since last spring.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 o’clock Sunday afternoon from Holy Trinity church here with the Rev. J. L. Morgan of Salisbury, president of the North Carolina Luthern synod, in charge. Burial will be in Oakwood cemetery.
