SISTER PEARLE LYERLY
SALISBURY – Sister Pearl N. Lyerly, 76, of Washington, formerly of Salisbury, died Wednesday morning in the Lutheran Deaconess Home in Gladwyne, Pa.

Funeral will be 2 p.m. today at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Rowan County with the Rev. John E. Pless, Dr. Arnond Keller, the Rev. Wilbur V. Newby and the Rev. Karl M. park officiating. Burial will be at the church.

She attended Mont Amoena Seminary in Mount Pleasant and the Lutheran Deaconess Training School in Baltimore, Md. She was a parish deaconess at the Advent Lutheran Church in new York City and in 1939 went to the Reformation Lutheran Church in Washington, where she served until her retirement.

Surviving is her sister, Mrs. J. A. Horton Sr. of Salisbury.

The body is at Summersett funeral Home.
