Mrs. C. F. Davis of Wadmalaw, Dies At 83

Mrs Pattie Miley Davis, wife of Charles Frank Davis of Wadmalaw Island, died at her residence last night. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Stuhr’s.

Mrs. Davis was born Jan. 29, 1875, in Hampton County, a daughter of John Miley and Mrs. Martha Breeland Miley of Hampton County. She attended schools there and was graduated from Mount Amena [sic] College, North Carolina. She taught school in Hampton County and was a member of he Rockville Presbyterian Church. Her husband is one of the Sea Island’s larger vegetable producers.

Surviving are her husband: four sons,, Frank M. Davis and Bushrod Davis of Wasmalaw Island, Ralph Davis of John’s Island and Charles F. Davis Jr. of Riverland Terrace: three daughters, Mrs. Carl A. Wilson and Mrs. H. Way Smathers of Charleston and Mrs. J. B. Mayer of Georgetown: two sisters, Mrs. Izora Miley and Miss Viola Miley of Hampton.
