Distinguished Personages, Bridal Tour, Congratulations, Etc.

To-day, July 11th, at 3 p.m., in Salem Church, Rowan county, Rev Prof J. A. Linn, of Mt Pleasant, NC, and Miss Mary Miller, of Rowan county, were united in holy wedlock, by Rev J D Shirey.

Attendants, Miss Jennie Cook, Miss Julia Shirey, Rev S L Keller and Rev C B King.

The groom, son of Rev. Mr. Linn, of sainted memory, is the very efficient President of Mt. Pleasant Female Seminary. The fair bride, grand-daughter of Dr. Paul Seaford, and sister of Rev C B Miller, is no less accomplished than beautiful, having recently completed her classical education with marked distinctions. The scholarly Professor is to be congratulated in the wisdom and success of his choice.

The happy couple take this evening’s north-bound train, with the intention of visiting the Northern cities and sights on their extended bridal trip. Their many friends wish them a happy future, and many blessings upon their life-long union.

MRS. MARY C. LINN
LIBERTY, Aug. 4 – Mrs. Mary C. Linn, 89, died in a Randolph County hospital Tuesday following an extended illness. She was a native of Rowan County. She was a graduate from Mt. Amelia [Amoena] Seminary at Mt. Pleasant. Surviving are two sons, the Rev. John J. Linn of Liberty and Rev. J. Arthur Linn of Lakeland, Fla; one sister, Mrs. L. C. Cauble of Salisbury; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church at Mt. Pleasant Saturday at 2:30 p.m. by the Rev. Ernest Misenheimer and the Rev. Ray Trexler. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
