MISS MATTIE MILLER
SALISBURY – Miss Mattie Miller, 84, of Mount Ulla, died Sunday at Rowan Memorial Hospital after an illness of a year.

She was born in Mount Ulla to Jesse Wendle and Laura Brown Miller. She attended St. Luke’s Parochial School and Mont Amoena Seminary at Mount Pleasant.

She was a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church. She helped organize the first Mount Ulla community club and served as its first president.

Surviving is one brother, B. B. Miller of Mount Ulla.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. today at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church at Bear Poplar by the Rev. Glenn Yount. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
