Irma Christina Morgan, 96, died Friday, Dec. 4, 1998. A native of Effingham County, Ms. Morgan was a graduate of Mount Amoena Seminary, N.C., received her Bachelor of Arts degree in English at Georgia College, Milledgeville, and received her Masters degree in English from Peabody University, Tenn., and in literature and counseling from the University of Georgia. She was an English teacher in North Carolina, Gibson, and in Bainbridge. She taught elementary school in Steinhatchee, Fla. She was a school counselor in Toccoa and Gainesville. She was a recipient of the Georgia State Teacher of the Year and was president and active member of Delta Tappa Gamma Teachers sorority. She was a member of Wingard Memorial Lutheran Church, Clyo, and was an associate member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church. Services were Monday at Wingard Memorial Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Clyo. Survivors include a sister, Anne Cashion, Jacksonville, Fla; a sister-in-law, Gladys Morgan, Clyo; and nieces and nephews.
