WOMEN OF MOOSE MEET
Mrs. Wilkie Beatty Talks on ‘Child Care and Training.’
Mrs. Wilkie Beatty, past president of the Zeb Vance Parent-Teacher association, was guest speaker last night at a meeting of Charlotte Chapter No. 164, Women of the Moose, in Moose hall, 411 1-2 North Tryon street. She had her subject “Child Care and Training.”
At this “Chapter Night Program” attention centered on the child care and training committee’s outline of projects along this line in the order, with the committee, of which Mrs. Mary Webb is chairman, presenting the program.

DALLAS – Mrs. Wilkie Patterson Beatty, 87, of Route 2, formerly of Charlotte, died Aug. 8, 1990, at home. Funeral is 2 p.m. Saturday at Our Savior Lutheran Church, where she was a member. The Rev. Carl Haynes will officiate. Burial is in Elmwood Cemetery, Charlotte. Visitation is 7 to 9 tonight at Dallas Funeral Home.
Mrs. Beatty, a homemaker, was born in China Grove, daughter of the late Willie and Minnie Corriher Patterson and widow of Paul Beatty Sr. She was the past president of Church Women at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Charlotte, Church Women United, and Lutheran Church Women of N. C., and a charter member of Incarnation Lutheran Church. She taught at Mount Amoeanas Seminar [sic].
Survivors are her son, the Rev. Paul Beatty Jr. of Monroe; daughters, Mrs. Rachel Kahl of Brevard, Mrs. Patricia Moore of Charlotte; sister, Mrs. Evelyn Smith of Newton, Mrs. Marie Robinson; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.
