White-Ridenhour

Concord, Feb. 18. – In a simple ceremony performed Sunday morning, Feb. 16, in St. James Lutheran Church, Miss Mary Katherine Ridenhour became the bride of William McKamie White. Rev. Voight R. Cromar officiated and Mrs. E. Ray King played the wedding music. George Bost and Bill Grady served as ushers.

The bride and bridegroom entered together, the bride wearing gray with blue fox trimmings and navy accessories with shoulder corsage of pink rosebuds and valley lillies.

Immediately after the ceremony the couple left for Miami, Fla. They will be at home in Concord upon their return.

Mrs. White, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henderson C. Ridenhour, was educated at Appalachian Teachers College. Mr. White, son of Mr. and Mrs. John McKamie White, was educated at Southwestern Presbyterian University, Clarksville, Tenn., and holds a position at the Jackson Training School.

Mrs. Ridenhour

CONCORD — Mrs. Mary Catherine Ridenhour White, 76, of 1630 Old Charlotte Road died Sunday at 1:45 p.m. at Cabarrus Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be conducted at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Rocky River Presbyterian Church, where she was a member, by the Rev. James N. Muray. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. tonight at Wilkinson Funeral Home and will be at home the remaining time.

Memorial contributions may be sent to Rocky River Presbyterian Church or to the American Cancer Society.

Born Feb. 3, 1905 in Cabarrus County, she was the daughter of the late Henderson Caldwell and Ella Margaret Honeycutt Ridenhour. She attended Mount Amoena Seminary, Mt. Pleasant, and Appalachian State Teachers’ College, Boone. She was active with the Women of Church and was a member of the Fourth Tuesday Senior Citizens Club, White Hall Home Demonstration Club and the Women’s Auxiliary of the 81st Division of World War I Veterans. She served on the Cabarrus County Fair Committee.

Survivors include her husband, William McKamie White; a daughter, Mrs. Mary White Morrison, of Snellville, Ga.; three sisters, Mrs. Frances Mabrey and Mrs. Irene Plott, both of Concord, and Mrs. Pauline Plott of Lithonia, Mich.; a brother, W. Archie Ridenhour of Concord; and two grandchildren.

MRS. CATHERINE RIDENHOUR WHITE

Concord, NC…Mrs. Catherine Ridenhour White, age 76, of 1630 Old Charlotte Road, died Sunday, March 1, 1981, in Cabarrus Hospital. Funeral services will be 4 PM Tuesday at Rocky River Presbyterian Church, conducted by the Rev. James N. Murray with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Nephews will serve as active pallbearers. Elders of the church will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Mrs. White was born February 3, 1905 in Cabarrus County, daughter of the late Henderson Caldwell and Ella Margaret Honeyscutt Ridenhour. She was an active member of the Rocky River Presbyterian Church and the Women of the Church. She was a member of the Fourth Tuesday Senior Citizens Club and White Hall Home Demonstration Club.

Surviving are her husband, William M. White; one daughter, Mrs. Mary Morrison of Snellville, GA; three sisters, Mrs. Frances Mabrey and Mrs. Irene Plott, both of Concord, and Mrs. Pauline Plott of Lithonia, MI; one brother, Archie Ridenhour of Concord, and two grandchildren, Bill and Beth Morrison.
