1 Sep 2020, From granddaughter, Lisa Brantley Kobrin: “Some of her older sisters went to Linwood College and I know they taught a few years before marrying. I do know that her father Watson F Smith was a school board member in Cabarrus County for about 15 yrs (circa 1901-1915).
My grandmother always went by the name Geneva rather than her first name Cora and she married about 1917 to John “Lowe” Brantley and is buried in Sharon Memorial Park in Charlotte, NC. She was born August 2, 1894 and died August 10, 1980
She had 3 sons–the oldest two were in World War II and my father, the youngest, was in the Army stateside during the Korean Conflict.”
