Fink-Trexler

A nuptial wedding of unusual interest throughout Cabarrus county was the marriage Sunday evening, April 17th, of Miss Mary Trexler and Harry Fink, the ceremony being performed at 4 p.m. at the Lutheran parsonage with Rev. W. H. Dutton, pastor of the bride and groom, officiating.

The only attendants were Miss Blanche Fink, cousin of the groom; R. W. Cline, Miss Catherine Ridenhour and C. L. Trexler, of Concord, brother of the bride.

Mrs. Fink is the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. R. Trexler, of No. 6 township. She is a young lady of charming personality. She graduated at Mont Amoena Seminary, Mt. Pleasant. Since her graduation she has been a teacher in public schools of the county.

Mr. Fink is the son of Mr. and Mrs. D. L. Fink, Sr. He is a young man of noble ability. Part of his past life has been spent in traveling. He enlisted in the army at Fayetteville in 1923 and served eighteen successful months. Since then he has been a farmer in Nos. 6 and 7 townships.

After the ceremony the bride’s mother served a bountiful wedding supper.

The bride and groom will make their home with the groom’s parents.

Couple celebrates golden anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. William Harry Fink of Gold Hill were honored at a reception April 17 in celebration of their golden wedding anniversary. The event was held at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall, Mt. Pleasant.

Mr. and Mrs. Fink were married by the Rev. W. H. Dutton, on April 17, 1927 at the Lutheran parsonage in Gold Hill.

Entertaining at the courtesy were the couple’s seven children, Charles Lee Fink and Mrs. Sarah Fink Tysinger of Concord, George Fink of Anaheim, Calif., Wade E. Fink of Longview, Wash., Mrs. Betty Fink Eury of Winston-Salem, Harry Fink Jr. of Charlotte and Mrs. Jane Fink Troutman of Mt. Pleasant.

For the occasion Mrs. Fink wore a blue long sleeved knit dress to which she added a corsage of yellow rosebuds. Her husband had a yellow boutonniere. She is the only daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. L. R. Trexler. A graduate of Mont Amoena Seminary, Mt. Pleasant, she taught public school for a number of years. Mr. Fink is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Fink. Prior to his retirement 12 years ago, he was a farmer and employe of Cannon Mills.

The table was overlaid with a white and yellow lace cloth and appointed with yellow and white mums, yellow roses and daisies flanked by yellow candles. Punch, nuts, cheese wafers, chicken salad tarts and cake were served to approximately 150 guests calling during the hours from three until five p.m.

Two members of the wedding party present for the occasion were Mrs. Blanche Fink Cline and C. L. Trexler, brother of the bride. Also attending was Glenn Trexler, also her brother, and 21 of the couples 24 grandchildren including Mrs. Miles Irvine and Gary Fink of Longview, Wash., Bill Fink of Ft. Myers, Fla. Sending greetings via phone were Mrs. Wade Fink and Lisa of Longview, Wash., Mrs. George Fink, Sharon and Beth of Anaheim, Calif.

A special greeting was received from President and Mrs. Jimmy Carter from Washington, D.C.

MOUNT PLEASANT – Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Trexler Fink, 72, died Friday. Funeral is 4 p.m. Monday at Mount Olive Lutheran Church.

Survivors are husband, William Harry; sons, Charles Lee Fink of Concord, George W. Fink of Anaheim, Calif., Wade E. Fink of Lonview, Washington, Farry Fink Jr. of Charlotte; daughters, Mrs. Betty F. Eury of Winston-Salem, Mrs. Sarah F. Tysinger of Concord, Mrs. Jane F. Troutman; brothers, Glen Trexler, Caleb Trexler, both of Concord. Gordon-Peninger is in charge.
