Ladies Hurt When Horse Ran Away

Miss Laura Tucker and Mrs. J. R. Biggers, of No. 9 township, this county, each suffered a broken leg Thursday afternoon when a horse they were driving ran away and threw them from the buggy. The accident occurred near St. Martin’s Church, and the horse began his wild dash after the girthband broke. Mrs. Biggers was thrown from the buggy after the horse had run but a few feet, but Miss Tucker remained in the vehicle until the horse jumped a wide ditch, when she was thrown. Both suffered bad fractures, and Mrs. Bigger’s wound was so serious that her leg was placed in a cast. Negro children returning from school found the two ladies and summoned aid.
