Engagement Announced At Party in Davidson
DAVIDSON, Feb. 10 – Mrs. H. L. Horton entertained at seven tables of bridge Thursday evening at her home. A four-course dinner was served prior to the playing, and during the dinner the announcement of the engagement of Mrs. Pauline Walter Griffin of Kannapolis was made. Mrs. Griffith (sic) is a sister of the hostess. Her wedding to Arthur R. Townsend, Jr., of Brooklyn, N. Y., will take place in the spring. She is the daughter of W. H. Walter and the late Mrs. Walter, of Kannapolis.

FAYETTEVILLE – Mrs. Margaret Pauline Townsend, 61, owner and operator of the Carolina Paper and Chemical Co., died Sunday. Graveside services 4 p.m. Monday, LaFayette Memorial Park, the Rev. John A. Mauney. Surviving: a son, Eustace C. Griffin Jr. of Fayetteville; four sisters, Mrs. Robert L. Saunders of Rockingham, Mrs. Lester Horton of Charlotte, Miss Vivian Walter of Kannapolis and Mrs. C. L. Weber of Winson-Salem; three grandchildren.
