Wise Funeral To Be Held On Thursday

Miss Nola Mae Wise, 71, of Salisbury Route 6, died shortly after midnight this morning at Rowan Memorial Hospital after several years of declining health and two weeks serious illness.

Funeral services will be conducted at 4 o’clock Thursday afternoon from Salem Lutheran church by the pastor, the Rev. Paul E. Moose, and burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will remain at Summerset Funeral home, Salisbury, until 3:30 p.m. Thursday, when it will be taken to the church to like in state for 30 minutes.

Born in Rowan county February 25, 1886. Miss Wise was the daughter of the late Daniel F. and Mary Kluttz Wise. She attended Rowan county schools and Mont Amoena Seminary at Mt. Pleasant. She taught school for many years in Rowan and Cabarrus counties, where she was widely known as “Miss Nola,” and was later employed by Cannon Mills in Kannapolis. She was a life long member of Salem Lutheran church, where she taught Sunday school for a Number of years.

Surviving are three brothers, W. C. and J. E. Wise of Kannapolis, the Rev. Curtis K. Wise of Rowan county; a sister, Miss Carrie Wise of Rowan county.
