Mrs. Boozer’s Funeral Thursday
Funeral services for Mrs. Essie Wyse Boozer will be held Thursday morning at 11:30 in Wittenburg Lutheran Church, conducted by the Rev. L. Boyd Hamm, D. D., assisted by the Rev. R. E. Lee, D. D., and the Rev. L. E. Blackwelder. Interment will be in Wittenburg Cemetery.
Mrs. Boozer, 86, died Tuesday at the Lowman Home at White Rock.
She was born at Prosperity, daughter of the late Allen M. and Marilla E. Riser Wyse. She was married to the late Virgil Young Boozer, D. D., Lutheran minister, who was instrumental in the building of the Wittenberg Lutheran Church at Leesville in 1918. She was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer in Atlanta, Ga.
Survivors include a son, Herman Boozer of Atlanta, Ga.; two daughters, Mrs. Henry A. Schroder of Durham, N. C., and Miss Mary E. Boozer of Richmond, Va.; a sister, Mrs. C. E. Norman of Monroe, N. C., and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Active pallbearers will be Jonas McCartha, Harold Epting, Eugene Long, Joe L. Shealy, S. E. Amick, and W. P. Yarborough.
The body will be at the Barr Funeral Home, the family at the funeral home to receive frieneds after 10 a.m. Thursday.
