Mrs. Ruth Copeland Dies At Age 83
Mrs. Ruth Groseclose Ehrhardt Copeland, 83, widow of Sam W. Copeland of 227 LaWand Dr., died Tuesday in a local nursing home.
Born in Blacksburg, Va., she was a daughter of the late Rev. D. D. and Mary Buck Groseclose. She was a member of Ehrhardt Memorial Lutheran Church.
She was a graduate of Monte Mena [Mont Amoena] College and was a honorary member of and past president of the Lutheran Church Women and was a member of the UDS.
Surviving are a son, Ben G. Ehrhardt of Columbia; two daughters, Mrs. Wylie F. Kearse of Bracey, Va. and Mrs. John D. Holly of Charleston; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a stepson, Cecil Copeland of Bamberg and three step-daughters, Mrs. Betty C. Senn and Mrs. Maude C. Ross of Columbia and Mrs. Loouise C. Derrick of Little Mountain.
Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Mt. Pleasant Lutheran Church in Ehrhardt, conducted by the Rev. James C. Dickert and Dr. Ronald Miller with burial in Ehrhardt Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be R. S. Ehrhardt, O. E. Prichard, Ryan Clayton, Fritz Copeland, Henry Dannely and Jimmy Harrison.
Dunbar Funeral Home, Gervais Street Chapel, is in charge.
